Lee Normi is Leelanau County, Northern Michigan. Savvy farmer, sustainable woodsman, poet, philosopher, artist, and mariner. Thoughtfully soft spoken, humble yet revered, patient but diligent, quiet though admired. Lee Normi is father, brother, husband and friend. He teaches life’s hardest lessons but is a most steadfast companion. From the earth to us, we raise a glass to Lee Normi.
Winemaking Notes: Lee Normi is an oaked apple dessert wine produced from a blend of apple juice and apple brandy. Apples are picked and pressed in the fall. Some cider is frozen, the rest is fermented and distilled. The juice and brandy are then combined to 18-19% alcohol in Kentucky Rye Whiskey barrels and aged for 2-3 years. The wine is then lightly filtered and bottled.
Tasting Notes: Rich notes of caramel apple, butterscotch, and vanilla. Strong and robust like a Northern Michigan winter, sweet and elegant as a Leelanau spring.
