The cuvee is 94% Zinfandel from the Double Black Vineyard and 6% Petite Sirah from the Blind Faith and Double Black Vineyard.
Vineyard Notes: Both Double Black and Blind Faith vineyards are in the Estrella district of the Paso Robles appellation at 700-900 foot elevation, north and east of the town of Paso Robles. The vineyards are moderately sloped hillsides with some steep sloped areas. The soils are generally older clay loams of alluvial origin. Mid-days and afternoons are warm, but evenings and mornings are influenced by cool air from the Templeton Gap and occasionally from the Salinas Valley to the North. Both vineyards are farmed organially and are in the process of being certified.

"For a world that’s gotten used to jammy, ultraripe Zinfandel, this is a refresher course reminding us that Zinfandel made in a more restrained fashion can be fresh, exuberant and spicy. Foxglove is perennially a source of good values from the Central Coast of California. It’s the second label of Bob and Jim Varner."
