Kriek is a fresh fruity lambic beer that is made with characterful cherries. 3 Fonteinen Oude Kriek is the slow and all-natural maceration of whole sour cherries (no sweet cherries!) on traditional lambic. Real cherries, with the pit, but without the stem macerate on the lambic for months. In this way, color, taste and aromas are passed on to the beer. No addition of juices, syrups, or artificial sweeteners. Bottled unfined and unpasteurized.

This Oude Kriek features a maceration of sour cherries on 1- and 2-year old lambics in stainless steel for almost 11 months. 3 Fonteinen used lambics from 7 different barrels and 6 different brews. The weighted average age of the complete blend clocks at more than 40 months. The final fruit proportion is 328 grams of sour cherries per liter. 100% of the lambics were brewed by 3 Fonteinen. This kriek is one of the first blends that features a 3 Fonteinen brew with heirloom wheat.
