Tasting Notes: From one of the most esteemed Pinot Blanc vineyards in the entire state: Prairie School Vineyard. Fresh and bright on the nose, rich and dry on the palate. It's the best of both worlds. Very limited production.
Winemaker Notes: “This may be the first and ONLY time Stranger will make Pinot Blanc. We had to buffer not having Viognier in 2024, and Bryan Ulbrich helped us secure 1 singular ton of this historic Pinot Blanc fruit. Aggressive pressing to extract phenolic structure resulted in a wine with a weighted aromatic profile. It seems big and bold, but then hits the palate with salinity and crystalline structure. An ode to my Grandmother, who was from Alsace, and regularly drank Pinot Blanc every night, if Auxerrois wasn't available. This is also a base for a Méthode Champenoise to be released in about five years.” - Maxx
Winemaking Notes: Skin contact for 4 hours. Whole cluster pressed. Fermented in 228-liter neutral French oak with native yeast, no SO2. No racking. Aged for 8 months in 228-liter Francois Freres LT 3rd use barrels. No racking. Battonage twice a week for 2 months. Moved to tank via gravity 2 months prior to bottling. Unfined. Unfiltered.
