Vintage Notes: A second consecutive wet winter allowed the vines to begin the year replenished and ready for an active growing season. Sonoma had temperate weather through- out spring, allowing the vine canopy to grow steadily. Late Spring and mid-summer heat events slowed down cluster growth and focused the canopies on fruit rip- ening. These growing season heat events resulted in smaller berry sizes and more concentrated fruit devel- opment. We began harvesting on August 21st, later than initially expected, as we welcomed a cool lead- up to harvest. Once harvest began, sustained warm summer weather facilitated continual ripening until we quickly finished the harvest October 3rd.
Vineyard Notes: A blend of Pinot Noir clones from Scribe's estate farmed vineyards on the west-facing slopes of Arrowhead Mountain.
Winemaking Notes: The hand-harvested clusters of Pinot Noir were lightly foot-tread ahead of pressing to allow the juice to have some skin contact. Once pressed, the juice was settled for 24-48 hours prior to racking to begin fermentation. The wine was fermented in stain- less steel for 20-40 days. After arresting malolactic fermentation the wine was further aged on its gross lees for 4 months prior to bottling.
Tasting Notes: White peach, sea spray, elderflower
