Alibernet (aka Odesa Black) is a red grape hybrid created in Ukraine in 1950 on the shores of Lake Yalpuh as a cross between Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting Notes: Reminiscent of a Côtes du Rhône, Odesa Black’s beautiful dark ruby color anticipates its smooth, silky structure. There is brightness on the nose, tart cherry on the palate with subtle tannins. The finish is black cherry and black pepper. Considered the “mustang” of red varieties, its rich color and spice riot is the future identity of Ukraine. Serving temperature 55°F.
