Vineyard Notes: A blend of Mencia, Arauxa (Tempranillo), Garnacha Tinotrera, and Mouraton from vineyards around the village of Tamagos on mostly clay soils. Vineyards average 370m elevation.

Winemaking Notes: Grapes are co-fermented, with about 1/3 whole bunches in the mix, and total maceration can exceed 30 days. The wine is racked after malolactic fermentation, and spends over a year in tank before bottling.

    The 2022 Tinto Candea combines 60% Mencia, 40% Garnacha Tintorera and Araúxa from Monterrei. It opens with red fruit, a faint sanguine note and plum, followed by a hint of spice and a touch of watermelon. This is pleasant, with a smooth texture and soft tannins on the finish.
