Vineyard Notes: The Suarez family acquired this farm in 2001, when it was still a virgin forest home to boulders measuring up to two metres in diameter. It is located at 1,100 metres above sea level in the foothills and is surrounded by native forest. On these 8 hectares they produce Malbec and Chardonnay. The soils at Finca Las Piedras are heterogeneous and contain high levels of calcium carbonate. The Malbec vines are over 20 years old. Facundo Suarez, who first purchased land in the area in 191, was the first to plant a vineyard south of the Uco Canal. There are only seven producers here due to the scarce availability of irrigation water.
Winemaking Notes: The grapes are hand harvested and fermentation with the native yeasts lasts 25 days. The wine ages in concrete before being bottled with minimal added sulfur.
