Ode to Lulu is Bedrock’s love letter to the Bandol rosé. They aim for a balance between ethereal lightness combined with delicious fruit. The Mourvèdre is sourced from the sandy soils and own-rooted vines of Oakley along with a dash of 1920s planted fruit from the famed Pagani Ranch. The deliciously feral and wild Mourvèdre is supplemented with Grenache and a bit of Syrah from other nice sites in Sonoma and El Dorado County. The wine ferments and ages in stainless steel tanks.

Notes from Bedrock:
"So we did something. With the 2022 vintage we are trialing some of our lovely Ode to Lulu in bag-in-box format. Why? Well, a whole number of reasons.

First, environmental costs associated with glass bottles represent nearly 50% of the wine industry’s carbon footprint according to several industry audits. Bag-in-Box (BiB) represents a nearly 80% reduction in overall carbon footprint due to less weight, recyclable materials (the lining, though plastic, is made from predominately post-recyclable material and is recyclable, as is the box itself), and ease of shipping.

Second, though not a great solution for wines intended for longer aging, the format is perfect for wines made for nearer-term drinking and will remain fresher when tapped than a bottle once opened.

Third, it is surprisingly great having a box of delicious, cold wine to grab a glass from at the end of the day without pulling a whole bottle.

Fourth, I never got to play “slap the bag” in college."
