Gioacchino Conti, known as Gizziello, was an 18th century superstar. His sentimental soprano voice led him to the most famous opera houses of Europe including Covent Garden, where he worked for George Frideric Handel.

This rare pét-nat is produced from 100% Lecinaro, an indigenous red grape native to Lazio. Marco Marrocco treats this beauty with care and intention: there’s no skin contact—just a gentle bleed of the juice from the grapes, which is then fermented spontaneously in concrete for seven days. Secondary fermentation occurs in bottle using the same wine, followed by one year of aging before release.

The result is a bone-dry, delicately sparkling wine with layers of citrus, wildflowers, cantaloupe, and a whisper of wild raspberry and tea. Bright and lifted, with a fine mousse and stony texture, Gizziello drinks like a thoughtful cross between grower Champagne and Pellegrino—zesty, soulful, and incredibly drinkable.
