Located in Azay-le-Rideau, just east of Chinon in the Loire Valley, Domaine des Hauts Baigneux was founded in 2013 by longtime friends and Les Tètes collaborators Nicolas Grosbois and Philippe Mesnier. Recognizing the exceptional potential of this underappreciated terroir, they acquired 12 hectares of vineyards and immediately converted all farming to organic practices.
Historically, Azay-le-Rideau has been known for its Chenin Blanc whites and rosé wines made from Grolleau and Gamay. The majority of the domaine's vineyards are situated on the lieu-dit Hauts Baigneux, with an additional two-hectare parcel in the neighboring village of Saché.
The estate is dedicated to expressing the character of its vineyards through thoughtful, low-intervention winemaking. All wines are fermented with native yeasts and vinified with minimal intervention, allowing the purity of the fruit and terroir to shine through.
In addition to the domaine's core range, special bottlings have been produced exclusively for select export markets, including varietal Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Across the portfolio, Domaine des Hauts Baigneux delivers remarkable value, combining organic farming, authentic winemaking, and outstanding drinkability.
These are vibrant, approachable Loire Valley wines that consistently overdeliver for the price and showcase the exciting future of Azay-le-Rideau.
