After spending many years abroad, the Saade family felt the pull of home and returned to their native village, Beit Menzer, nestled high in the northern mountains of Mount Lebanon. Surrounded by the raw beauty of nature and driven by a shared passion for wine, they discovered that their ancestral land held everything needed to craft an authentic mountain wine: rich, healthy soil, crisp snowy winters, dry summers, and a climate that preserves purity and freshness. The vineyards sit among ancient cedars, tall pines, wild roses, fig trees, and an abundance of red fruits. These surroundings imprint themselves on the wine, giving Mont D’Almaz's Red Blend its deep color, vibrant aromas, and the distinctive character of the Lebanese highlands.
Family-owned and family-run, Mont D’Almaz is more than a winery — it is the continuation of a long-standing tradition carried by the Saade family both in Lebanon and across the diaspora. Every bottle reflects the heritage, resilience, and craftsmanship passed down through generations.
Mont D’Almaz wines are produced naturally in the pristine village of Beit Menzer, located in the Bcharreh region of North Lebanon at an altitude of 1,260 meters. Just across from the Saade vineyards lies the historic cave “Sheer Al Dalmaz,” which inspired the winery’s name and watches over the vineyards as they overlook the majestic Qadisha Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site. All the grapes used in Mont D’Almaz wines are grown within the village itself, making their wines truly “one terroir, one wine.” This singular origin gives each bottle authenticity, purity, and a direct connection to the land.
The Saade family's commitment goes beyond winemaking. They are deeply engaged in the welfare of their village and dedicated to environmentally respectful practices. Their vines are farmed organically, and the wines are crafted with minimal intervention — allowing the land, the altitude, and the seasons to express themselves naturally. At Mont D’Almaz, every bottle tells the story of a family, a village, and a mountain — a true taste of the Lebanese Highlands.
