Nestled in the village of Vrhpolje in Slovenia’s Vipava Valley, Vina Krapež farms vines on the valley’s distinctive marl and flysch soils at the foothills of Nanos and Kovk. The region’s unique mix of Mediterranean warmth and Alpine influence is shaped by the constant movement of the warm southwest mornik wind and the cold bora wind, creating wines with freshness, energy, and character. Mild winters, warm summers, and steady rainfall make the Vipava Valley one of Slovenia’s most important growing regions.

The Krapež family story began in 1928 when Jožef Krapež purchased the Pr’potokovo farm in Vrhpolje and established the family’s roots in farming and viticulture. In 1971, the family made the pivotal decision to leave the local cooperative and begin bottling independently, setting the foundation for the estate’s modern identity. Since 1987, Martin Krapež has led the cellar with the same dedication and hands on approach that has defined the family for generations.
