Saxum Vineyards 2022 Cayucos Ridge Vineyard, San Luis Obispo Coast

This is the second vintage for Saxum from the Cayucos Ridge Vineyard. The vineyard is just 7 miles from their winery at James Berry Vineyard and 4.5 miles from the seaside town of Cayucos. It sits along the ridge-line of the Santa Mountain range with an average elevation of 1600 feet. Justin planted 11 acres of Syrah here in 2018.

The wine is fermented with 30-45% stem inclusion. Aged for an average of 33 months mostly in 300L barrles that are 50% new French oak. It is unfined and unfiltered.
