Vineyard Notes: Sourced 100% from the Powerline Estate Vineyard. Charles planted the 38-acre estate vineyard in the heart of the Walla Walla Valley. The soils are well-drained with cobblestone river rocks and underlying layers of sand and gravel deposits, allowing vines to develop very deep and strong roots. The deep sand and silt below the stones bring a great purity to the grapes, while high elevations keep acids high, producing very well-balanced wines with remarkable complex characters.

Farming Notes: All vineyards are sustainably farmed, following organic principles. Zero pesticides, zero herbicides and zero adjuncts are used. Harvest is manual.

Winemaking Notes: 2.3 tons per acre. 100% whole berry fermentation (Cabernet Sauvignon), 100% whole cluster fermentation (Syrah), 53 days on skins. 65% new French oak barriques, 28 months aged on lees. Bottled from gross lees, unfined and unfiltered. Vegan friendly.

Tasting Notes: Absolutely Cabernet Sauvignon in style but co-fermented with Syrah to give seamless balance. Black currant, cedar box, fresh tobacco, and pencil lead. So much finesse and length. Blackberry, fire ash, and a mineral palate

A dusty array of black cherries and grilled sage complicated by a whiff of freshly cracked chalk makes the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon-Syrah The Creator a total pleasure on the nose. This seduces with its velvety textures, contrasted by tart wild berries and hints of orange zest. Vibrant acidity cleans up the palate beautifully through the finish, as the 2019 tapers off potent and long, with a licorice tinge and rounded tannins.

This puppy boasts a ruby/plum hue as well as terrific aromatics of blackcurrants, tobacco, iron, and peppery herbs. It's medium to full-bodied, has good freshness, ripe tannins, and the straight, focused, elegant yet still concentrated style of the vintage front and center.
