While Madonna del Grazie is the estate's top wine, its flagship Brunello di Montalcino can stand toe to toe with it. The vines are almost as old, and of course, are all located in Montalcino's prime northern sector.

Vineyard Notes: Sangiovese from 5 hectares of vineyards surrounding the estate. Soils are sandy, with mineral intrusions and marine deposits.

Winemaking Notes: Slow fermentation in large oak casks. After 20+ days of fermentation, the wine is racked to 26hl barrels for at least 36 months before bottling.

The 2021 Brunello di Montalcino wafts up with an exotic blend of crushed sour cherries and dried violets completmented by cedar spice box and nuances of incense. It is seamless and silken in feel, displaing notable weight while also coming across as graceful and refined, with a remarkably pretty blend of wild strawberries and a crunch of minearlity. A raspberry sauce concentration and sour citrus twang remain as edgy tannins linger, offset by a bump of riveting acidity. This is a fantastic vintage for Il Marroneto's Brunello, here taking on a level of complexity and concentration I usually associate with the Madonna delle Grazie.
