Winemaker Notes: Our latest release of this elegant, complex & food-friendly white wine. I have made Chardonnay a number of times for my clients over the years, but I was not compelled to make my own until a special vineyard source became available in 2016 - the Rued family original vineyard, planted in 1969. The offer was intriguing, so I went to have a look, and was immediately taken with the magnificent old vines and their large gnarled trunks & arms. I couldn’t resist working with such a special site, and La Sirena Chardonnay was born.

Vineyard Notes: 60% of the Chardonnay comes from Valdez Vineyard and 40% from Bacigalupi Paris Block.

Tasting Notes: Pale lemon yellow color with classic Chardonnay aromas of green apple, citrus, pomelo, and just a kiss of light French oak. Beautiful purity of aromas and flavors reflecting each other. Nice round mouthfeel without heaviness, and the crisp mouthwatering acidity balances the lushness on the palate. The minerality of place comes through from the rocky hillside vineyard in the Russian River Valley, and has a flinty note reminiscent of Chablis. A delightfully complex, elegant and food-friendly Chardonnay that was barrel aged on the lees for 10 months in 10% new oak.
