This isn’t your average boxed wine. This is white Burgundy in a box — fresh, racy, mineral-driven Chardonnay from Southern Burgundy, born in Beaujolais and made for a good time.

Winemaking Notes: Sustainably farmed grapes from vines aged around 25 years old. Grapes are destemmed, and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is partially blocked. The wine spends about 5 months on the lees for texture and depth, 1/3 in stainless steel and 1/3 in concrete. The Herisson Blanc is bottled unfined.

Producer Notes: Herrison Blanc is produced by Domaine de Rochebin. Domaine de Rochebin consists of 50 hectares of sustainably farmed vines located in Aze, the heart of the Mâconnais. The domaine was established in 1925 and has always been committed to low intervention practice in the cellar that respect the tradition of the region.

Sustainability: The wine packaging format with the lowest level of carbon emissions is bag-in-box (BIB), or box wine. Glass bottle production is almost 10 times higher than BIB. Glass is also heavy to transport. Consisting of only cardboard and a bag, the BIB package is very lightweight, which enables considerable transport savings. The recycling process for BIB is also less energy intensive. Box wine is one of the most sustainable ways to buy and consume wine for early drinking.
