Terroir Notes: The vineyards are located on what is known as the “Bidini Soprano” plateau. The soil structure is divided between clear red sand and dark, medium density earth with good depth. The grapevines planted in dark red soil produce Nero d’Avola, while the vines planted in clear red soil produce Frappato. The Nero d’Avola and Frappato grapes are blended together to obtain the famous Cerasuolo di Vittoria (60% Nero d’Avola and 40% Frappato). ICEA organic certification since 2018, but the vineyards have always been grown organically.

Fermentation: Spontaneous fermentation occurs in steel tanks with indigenous yeast
Aging: 1 year in barrel and 500-liter tonneaux, minimum 9 months in bottle

Tasting Notes: The wine has an intense cherry red color. Mature blackberry and raspberry with notes of soft spices like licorice and cacao show on the nose. The palate is soft, full and velvety with balanced tannins. Pair this wine with elaborate meat dishes, chicken curry, and game pâté.

This juicy red delivers an aroma of mandarin orange on the nose that mixes on the palate, revealing a fragrant thread of Earl Grey tea leaf winding through black raspberry coulis, milled pepper, loamy earth and licorice twist. Gains nice definition and focus, courtesy of light tannins and fresh acidity.

A spicy and smoky mix of crushed blackberries, pepper-tinged florals and minty herbs makes the 2019 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico impossible to ignore. It's round yet lifted and spry, with hints of sour grapefruit that quickly add a mouthwatering tension, as tart wild berries and minerals settle upon the palate. The 2019 tapers off classically dry throughout the long, yet fresh and perfumed finale.
