What is Triticale? Triticale is a rye-wheat hybrid developed in the late 1800s in Scotland. It combines the spice and complexity of rye with the approachability of wheat.

Production Notes: This 'Trit' Whiskey is made from an original mash bill of locally grown Oregon triticale, rye malt, and distillers malt. Branch Point's mash bills are designed to showcase the unique flavor of each grain. The whiskey is fermented using a traditional rye whiskey yeast strain, double pot distilled, and matured in new, charred American oak barrels with a barrel entry proof of 110. Aging barrels are stored in a non-temperature controlled warehouse, which allows the whiskey to be affected by the unique temperate and rainy climate of the Pacific Northwest. After maturation, the whiskey is bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV) without chill filtration to preserve mouthfeel and maximize flavor.
