Winemaking Notes: The grapes are manually harvested. The bunches are destemmed and transferred to stainless steel for spontaneous fermentation that lasts about 10-15 days. After primary fermentation, the grapes are gently pressed in a hydraulic press (basket press) and transferred to stainless steel to age for 6 months on fine lees. Malolactic fermentation occurs. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with low sulfites.

Tasting Notes: The Cirelli Montepulciano is deliciously fresh with bright red fruit. The palate is soft, round, and full-bodied. Best enjoyed with spicy salami, pasta dishes, red meats and semi-cured cheeses.

Dark and earthy in the glass, the 2021 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo opens with a blend of flowery underbrush and crushed black cherries. It's soft and round with juicy red fruits and sweet spice as a bump of zesty acidity adds a cheek-puckering tension toward the close. This leaves a gentle staining of minerality and tannins while tapering off with medium length.
