Vintage Notes by Wine Advocate 5/2019: "2018 brought 'grapes of great purity and richness. Rarely has nature been so generous both in the quantity of grapes and in the quality of the wine,' says the domaine’s the vintage report, summarizing a harvest that took place under 'idyllic conditions' toward the end of the season...Although the 2018s already taste beautiful, these wines can be cellared for decades. There is no lack of freshness nor of purity, and the body weight is perfectly balanced."

Le Haut-Lieu Vineyard: The original Huet vineyard, purchased in 1928, is nearly 9 HA. It has the richest soils of the domaine’s three crus—a deep limestone-clay—and the wines are generally the estate’s most approachable. This vineyard is on the plateau, one of the highest points of the appellation with a slight south-facing gradient. Biodynamic since 1993.

The 2018 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Moelleux is clear and seductively ripe on the elegant, still yeasty nose with a mineral backbone and its chalky background. Sweet and lush but fine and filigreed on the palate, this is a salty, frisky, elegant, densely woven and well-structured Haut-Lieu with fine tannins and a long, complex finish that is rich and finessed at the same time, with lingering piquancy and stimulating salinity. This 2018 is a very charming but also serious Chenin Blanc with fine tannins, good tension and aging potential.
