Ana María Cumsille has spent decades making wine, beginning her career at large commercial wineries before pursuing a more personal path. Drawn to the historic vineyards of Itata, she developed close relationships with families farming small parcels of old bush vines throughout the subregions of Guarilihue, Cerro Verde, Trehuaco, and Ránquil. Today, she sources fruit from these growers to craft small-production, single-vineyard wines that showcase the character of Itata's old-vine Carignan, Cinsault, País, Malbec, and other traditional varieties.

Ana María began producing her wines at the winery of Rafa Tirado of Laberinto, where she could focus on expressing the individuality of each vineyard with minimal intervention. Based in Santiago, she remains deeply involved in Chile's wine community while spending as much time as possible among the vineyards and landscapes that continue to inspire her work.
