Winemaking Notes: Grapes are harvested by hand a little earlier than most in Mendoza to retain freshness and acidity. The winery is renowned for having state-of-the-art technology in crushing, fermentation and aging. In order to achieve natural wines of the highest quality, the winery is designed on four levels to transport grapes and wines by gravity, without the use of pumps. The Gran Terroir Malbec goes through malolactic fermentation. The wine spends 12-18 months in 2nd and 3rd use French oak barrels and is bottle aged for 5 months before release. Only indigenous yeast are used.

Tasting Notes: The Zorzal Gran Terroir Malbec is a deep, dark, glowing violet. The most outstanding aspect of the nose is its great aromatic complexity, particularly the chocolate, licorice, mineral and floral tones. It shows an interesting concentration in the mouth, with firm, secure tannins, fresh acidity, a long finish with great breadth. Ideal pairings include seasoned, spicy casseroles, hard cheeses and tapas with cold meats.
