Clovis Ochin 2023 'Ludo' Bobal Xarel-lo, Penedes

This unique blend of Bobal and Xarel-lo brings together two distinctive Spanish varieties, combining the energy and fruit of Bobal with the structure and freshness of old vine Xarel-lo. The Xarel-lo is sourced from vineyards approaching 80 years of age in Penedès, contributing depth, texture, and a strong sense of place.

The grapes undergo whole cluster fermentation with seven days of maceration before being transferred to glass dame-jeannes for aging. A portion of the juice is retained in tank and used for weekly topping, protecting the wine naturally from oxidation throughout élevage. Bottled without fining, filtration, or added sulfur, the wine is a vibrant and unfiltered expression of Clovis Ochin's minimalist approach and the character of these historic vineyards.
