Vineyard Notes: The Zinfandel comes from Heaton Vineyard in the Willow Creek District, which Winemaker Matt Trevisan has worked with since 2007. The dry farmed vines and cooler westside climate produce a Zinfandel with lively acidity and native elegance. The Syrah, Grenache and Carignan come from a mix of blocks at two Linne Calodo estates — Stonethrower Vineyard and Oakdale Vineyard. Collectively, these sites form a wine that is naturally complex and multidimensional.

Dry farmed (Zinfandel, Grenache and Carignan) and deficit irrigated (Syrah). The Linne Calodo estates practice nature-positive viticulture emphasizing biodiversity, native lifeforms and species coexistence by way of no-till, permaculture and polyculture practices. Agricultural floor managed through careful plant selection via hand-removal, mowing and grazing. Soil health managed through mulching, organic compost additions and animal grazing, including 48 head of sheep. All viticulture performed by full-time, in-house Linne Calodo vineyard team.

Winemaking Notes: Native yeast fermentation. After fermentation, the various blocks were pressed to 228, 265 and 500-liter French oak barrels (20% new oak), where they underwent extended aging for 30 months prior to blending. Complete Linne Calodo treatment—no additional expense spared from winegrowing through winemaking, but differentiated as a Slacker blend with an emphasis on softer edges and immediate approachability.

Tasting Notes: The nose is fresh and exuberant with rose petal, cherry drop, dried sage and pomegranate. Juicy raspberry flavors reveal notes of vanilla, tobacco leaf and coffee. Bright, crunchy acidity mingles with black pepper spiciness on the finish. A wine that will keep you thinking twice.
