Vineyard Notes: This 100% unoaked Carignan is manually harvested from a 60-year-old vineyard in the Maule region of Chile. The 25-acre vineyard is planted to bush vines and dry farmed. The soil is mainly comprised of granite.

Winemaking Notes: Grapes are destemmed and transferred to large cement vats for fermentation. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeast.

Tasting Notes: The nose is bursting with notes of cherry, plum, rose petal, cinnamon, lavender, and anise that lead to a bright palate of cassis and blackberry. There are hints of mushroom and earth underneath the dark fruit. A touch of black pepper spice and a solid dose of structural tannins round out the wine.

About the Name: No one who has visited Chile can doubt that "weon" is the most ubiquitous slang word spoken by Chileans. It is usually translated roughly as "dude" but has as many uses as you can imagine as noun, verb, or adjective. It is a testament to the creativity of Chileans, in language as well as all other aspects of life.
