For those who have been among the LFC faithful for a while, you may remember 2012 as the last time a single vineyard Terminal Moraine Dry Riesling was produced. Since then, LFC has been patiently working with this site, waiting for a vintage like 2020 to make a return.
The Terminal Moraine Vineyard is a 1.5-acre site grown by the Reehorst family on their home property. The land has two distinct soil types: a sandy loam top layer atop a layer of clay and gravel. This is a result of the ice age glaciers which cut through to create the Old Mission Peninsula, leaving behind the so-called "terminal moraine." These two personalities blend to make a structured wine with fat peach and apricot qualities and a stony acid finish.
