Vineyard Notes: Own-rooted, dry-farmed, Pinot Noir is farmed without glyphosate, herbicides, or pesticides. A cover crop is planted of native plants, flowers, poppies, root vegetables, and edible leafy greens.
Winemaking Notes: Whole cluster Pinot Noir was pressed directly on stems with no breaking of the berries prior to going to press. Juice was “browned” at the press pan with no SO2 added and sent directly into a concrete cube (75%) and neutral barrels (25%) where spontaneous fermentation occurred. Malolactic fermentation also occurred naturally. The wine aged on its gross lees until bottling, at which point it was racked from the concrete and barrels to rest in stainless steel tanks for 2 weeks. This rosé was bottled unfined and unfiltered. The only things that go into Marigny wines are manually harvested grapes, ambient yeast, and time. An untraceable amount of sulfites are added, while bottling, to protect the wine as it moves from tank to bottle.
Tasting Notes: Underripe strawberries, watermelon fresca, sidewalks that shine like oil slicks...
