Vineyard Colla Micheri: The vines date back to the 1970s and are the core of Cascina Praie's Vermentino production. The yield is low from old stock rooted deep in limestone and terraced by the stone walls. The south by southwest-facing vineyard is located at an average altitude of 150 meters. The winery is not officially certified organic but its cultivation and vinification protocols are based on the most stringent natural production parameters.

Winemaking Notes: The grapes are manually harvested and then destemmed. The juice macerates with on the skins for roughly 12 hours before pressing. Temperature-controlled fermentation with cultured yeast is followed by racking, storage in stainless steel with lees stirring, and no filtering until the wine is bottled. A small amount of must from the same parcel is added prior to bottling as a liqueur to give 2 g/l of sugars.

Tasting Notes: This Vermentino is light-bodied and fresh. The aromatics are salty and round, with hints of crushed rock minerals, white herbs, white peach, citrus zest and a touch of oiled almond. Salinity on the palate leads to a long, snappy finish. This is a mouthwatering white wine.
