Vineyard Notes: Grapes come from vines ranging 45 to 80 years old. The lieux-dits include les Forchets, Montmerond, and Les Bulliats. Antoine Sunier works with 3 hectares. The sites are currently in organic conversion.

Winemaking Notes: Wine is transferred to tanks by gravity. Only indigenous yeast are used. Whole cluster carbonic maceration takes place for 8-15 days, followed by horizontal pressing and manual racking. Wine is aged on its lees for 7 months in 50% neutral Burgundy barrels (8 years and older) and 50% cement epoxy tanks. The wine is not fined or filtered. Only a small amount of sulfites is added at bottling (10-20 mg/l).

Tasting Notes: Raspberry and cherry show on the mineral-tinged nose along with herbs and lavender. While lively and mineral on the palate, there is also great structure sharpened by acidity. The flavors will continue to develop with age.

About Regnie from Vinepair : "Elevated in 1988, Régnié is the youngest of the Beaujolais crus, and stylistically, it brings together the fresh fruit of Brouilly with a bit of the body and structure of Morgon. It’s supple but lively, with bright raspberry flavors and often a spicy note that makes it distinctive."

  • The Wine Advocate
    Rating: 91 (8/19/2021)

Bursting with aromas of sweet berry fruit, plums, warm spices and vanilla pod, the 2020 Régnié is medium to full-bodied, lively and charming, with melting tannins and a sapid finish.

    Rating: 92 (8/15/2021)

Fresh red and blue fruits, violet and baking spices on the highly perfumed nose. Juicy and gently chewy in texture, offering sappy cherry and boysenberry flavors that flesh out and turn sweeter through the mid-palate. Fine-grained tannins add grip to a long, spicy finish that features repeating florality and a sneaky hint of gaminess.
