Tasting Notes: The Freire Lobo Vigno Tinto showcases red fruit and wild berries. Its full body with balanced acidity ends with persistency. This red is extremely gastronomic and ideal to drink at any time.

Winemaking Notes: The Freire Lobo Vigno Tinto is made from traditional Dão grape varieties: 40% Touriga Nacional, 30% Alfrocheiro and 30% Jaen. The grapes are manually harvested. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel with indigenous yeast. The wine is aged prior to bottling.

Terroir Notes: The vineyards are located in Oliveira do Hospital, near Serra da Estrela. They are farmed organically with some biodynamic principles with the goal of maintaining a balanced biodiversity. Bordaleiras sheep (typical of Serra da Estrela) graze the land during the winter months to control herb growth and add essential fertilizer. All the fertilization is organic with manure, and no herbicides are used. Cover crops improve the soil structure and fertility. They also help manage the nutrients and limited water available in the poor, granitic soil.
