Left Foot Charley Rosé is made from 100% Michigan-grown Blaufränkisch from 2 different counties (Benzie and Old Mission Peninsula). One vineyard, Eden Hill Vines, is a southern vineyard in Benzie County. Here Bryan Ulbrich isolated a block specifically for rosé and planted a clone known to have ripe plum and berry flavors with lots of juicy acidity. The second site is Hawk Ridge of Old Mission Peninsula. This is a young site that has a sheltered view of West Bay and produces a small amount of perfectly matured fruit for rosé.
The juice is released from the skins very quickly to capture a pretty hue of pink for a complex but delicate style of dry rosé. The wine ages in stainless steel.
