Vineyard Notes: Scribe began farming this Carneros vineyard in 2007. The vineyard is planted to equal parts Martini and Pommard clones and is one mile from the Scribe estate. The Huichica loam soil and cool Carneros climate ripen the Pinot Noir at a steady, gradual pace.
Vintage Notes: After much needed, record-breaking winter rains lingered into early spring, the vines came out of dormancy in March. Wet soils and mild temperatures moved the vines through to veraison with ease, before several heat waves jumpstarted an early, quick harvest.
Winemaking Notes: The vineyard was harvested in three days, September 4, 6 and 7. All lots fermented with native yeast for 12-15 days with 15% whole cluster. The wine was aged in 10% new French oak, 5% concrete, and 85% neutral oak barrels for 6 7 months and bottled on April 23, 2018.
Tasting Notes: Currant, Black Tea, Rhubarb, Kola Nut, Cherry Pit
