About the Name: Arc du Rhône is named after the classified group of villages that line up to form a geographical arc across the valley of the southern Rhône and is known locally as the 'arc of gold.' This wine is sourced from the village of Cairanne at the western tip of this arc of gold. The village of Cairanne is one of the rising stars of the region, recently awarded 'cru' appellation status. Here, terroir of stony clay and saffre planted with old vines produce wines of real personality and flair.
Winemaking Notes: A small proportion of oak adds a touch of complexity, otherwise Arc du Rhône Côtes du Rhône Villages has been fermented and rested in stainless steel to let the fruit shine through.
Tasting Notes: This Côtes du Rhône Villages is full flavored and lusciously fruity. The palate is smooth with a delicate spice of anise and a core of blackberry fruit. This wine will pair nicely with a host of dishes; try it with duck!
