Vineyard Notes: The Cabernet Franc was sourced from three vineyards within Allegan and Berrien Counties (SW Michigan). The vineyards are planted with Loire clones of Cabernet Franc giving this lovely wine a Chinon-like character. The soils of both are a mix of clay, loam, and a little sand. This combination seems to produce medium-bodied to full-bodied wines with considerable perfume and charm.
Aging: 9 months in neutral french oak barrels
Food Pairing: This is a good wine for light pasta dishes with meat sauces and anything with which you would pair with a Chianti Classico or a lighter Bordeaux.
About the Name: Marland means "land near the lake" in Old English.
