91+ (2016 Vintage) Wine Advocate 4/28/2017
"It's a very original blend, not exuberant, more reticent, insinuating, with a strong personality and quite different. You don't get the same aromas you find in the majority of whites. It has complexity and a serious palate with freshness and depth. It ends dry. A white of strong personality."

The 2017 Vistalago Mezcla Blanca is an unoaked blend of Chardonnay and Torontel with a majority of Riesling, which tends to dominate in the blend. It has floral notes but a more complex and wide palate, perhaps from the other grapes, with a mineral profile and very good acidity. The grapes were picked in February, earlier than usual, as the harvest usually starts in mid-March. This is serious, balanced and young, with incipient complexity that should develop with more time in bottle.
