Wine Notes: Alma de Mar (soul of the sea) comes from a single vineyard called Finca O Pereiro planted very close to the ocean back in 1985. Soil is a mix of clay and sand. The Albariño grapes are fermented in stainless steel with native yeast and aged on their fine lees for about 6 months with occasional stirring throughout.

Tasting Notes: Alma de Mar is a special wine with a rich profile marked by salinity and pastry notes. The mouthfeel is round and the finish is long.

The 2015 Alma de Mar is pure Albariño from a single plot by the beach planted some 38 years ago on sandy soils. The wine was fermented with wild yeasts, put through malolactic and aged in contact with the lees in stainless steel, with some bâtonnage, for about eight months. This is a lot sharper than other vintages, even if in theory this should have been softer because of malolactic and the work with the lees. It must be the character of the year! It really seems to have the soul of the sea (its name!).
