Vineyard Notes: The grapes for the Bergerie Rosé are grown in parcels low in the foothills where the plants are less exposed to the elements than those that grow on the higher slopes. The vines grow in shallow scree (rock fragments) with limestone elements closer to the source rock and are, therefore, more sensitive to drought. The brown soil was formed during the Cretaceous Period. The hill slopes vary between 10 degrees and 30 degrees at an altitude between 150-200 meters. The domaine employs lutte raisonnée where no chemical additives are used in the vineyards, unless there is a threat of losing an entire vintage.
Winemaking Notes: Fermentation lasts between 3 to 4 weeks followed by 4 months aging in steel vats. Wine is bottled towards the end of winter.
