Stephen Vincent Wines

Stephen Vincent Situm began his career in 1962 with Gallo. He went on to help build the brands of J. Lohr, Louis Roederer, Stephen Zellerbach, Vichon, and Foppiano to name a few. Robert Goyette was the founder of the boutique winery, La Crema, and then worked as a winemaker for Benziger for many years. In addition to acting as the head winemaker for Stephen Vincent, he also produces wines under his own label Goyette. Hossein Namdar has been in the wine business for 25 years as a vineyard owner and manager in Lake County and the Sonoma Coast regions of California. A founding partner of Stephen Vincent, Hossein now consults with the company on matters of strategic planning, vineyard management, contractual arrangements for grapes and wine purchases, and winemaking.

The dry Sauvignon Blanc smells of fig, honey, melon and apple; its acidity is refreshingly perfect for Chicago summers.

The Chardonnay tastes better than the humble price suggests. 20% of the wine is barrel fermented in French and American Oak to impart the tannins, while 10% is malolactic fermented to give the wine a buttery flavor, and the remaining 70% is stainless steel fermented to capture the essence of the Chardonnay fruit.

The Pinot Noir with soft tannins has cherry and raspberry flavors with hints of oak for complexity.

The Crimson, made from Syrah, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon, has a luscious mouthfeel followed by a clean finish; this wine is a joy to drink and calls you back for more.

The Cabernet tastes of vanilla and boysenberry pie with cassis and soft tannins; the price point does not match the luxurious taste it exudes!
