For 100 years the name Maybach has been synonymous with quality at the finest level. The tradition of individuality and craftsmanship established by their ancestors is honored with their handmade wine.

From humble beginnings as a trainee in a German Orphanage, Wilhelm Maybach went on to invent the high-speed internal combustion engine and in 1900, as chief engineer and business partner to Gottlieb Daimler, to design and build the first Mercedes cars. Advancing his father's legacy, Karl Maybach would develop the first high-speed diesel engines and, in 1920, would launch a private line of ultra-luxury automobiles which earned an unparalleled, worldwide reputation. In 2002, DaimlerChrysler would revitalize this Maybach brand in recognition of the father and son who together played such a monumental role in defining German engineering.

Winemaker Thomas Brown's minimalist approach encourages the character of the Oakville region to express itself through rich aromas and flavors. 2019 marks Thomas' sixteenth enriching year working with the Maybach family. Born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina, Thomas majored in English and economics at the University of Virginia. In 1996, he discovered wine, moved to the Napa Valley and got his start in an industry he says is "just perfect for me."

Wine Advocate 10/2019
"From luxury cars to luxury wine, the Maybach name epitomizes precision, style and performance. And with a winemaker like Thomas Rivers Brown, it’s not surprising that this label doesn’t miss a beat, even in a challenging vintage like 2017."

Wine Advocate 7/2019
"Thomas Rivers Brown is undoubtedly one of Napa Valley’s top rock-star winemakers. He is the deft hand behind a who’s-who list of cult labels, including Schrader, Outpost, Maybach, Seaver and his own Rivers-Marie brand (co-owned with Genevieve Marie Welsh). But perhaps what I most appreciate during our one-on-one tasting sessions is his down-to-earth nature and ability to keep it real."
