Alberici NV 'La Fogarina' Lambrusco dell'Emilia Rosso IGP Login In Stock

Just when you think you are lost in the floodplains of the Po River in Reggio Emilia, you find the Alberici's family farm. In a small village outside of Gualtieri, 10 hectares are almost entirely covered with vines. Amilcare, his wife Daniela, and his two children Arianna and Alessio are the land’s caregivers. They live and breathe the rhythms of nature and passionately produce interesting wines that are as true to the soil as they are.

Amilcare Alberici learned everything he knows from his father Dino. He joined his father in the fields and cellar at an early age, so he has a deep respect for the land and cycles of life. During this time, the farm produced various crops: pears, watermelons, melons, tomatoes, and grapes. The switch to focus solely on grapes happened in the late 80s. Amilcare’s children, Arianna and Alessio represent that third generation to steward the land. They intend to continue working naturally in the vineyard and cellar, just like their father and grandfather.

Together the family produces sparkling wines of excellent quality and depth. If you are searching for easy wines, easy Lambrusco that goes down like Kool-Aid, this is not for you. Deep people make deep wines; we are talking layers of bewitching depth. Lambrusco, Chardonnay and Fogarina grow neatly in well-kept rows, waiting to be crafted into some of the most interesting frizzantes made in the classico method with natural fermentation in the bottle. Everything is done by the hands of the Alberici's—from pruning to bottling.
